TIPS ON HOW TO STYLE A PLEATED MINI SKIRT
I haven't always worn a lot of skirts as styling them can be tricky. Do you have to tuck your shirt in? How do you pair it with a sweater and not look too bulky? It seemed too fussy, and i'd often end up wearing jeans or a dress. But as with many things i've learned through blogging - there are simple outfit formulas that can make styling skirts easy! Today i'm sharing outfit ideas for styling a pleated mini skirt. Let me know which one is your fave!
SWEATER + SKIRT

The first combination ( and the most appropriate in this cold weather ) is the sweater and skirt combination. Now you have two choices when picking a sweater to pair with your skirt. You can go bulky or fitted/cropped. If you're going for a bulky sweater, make sure that you tuck a part of the sweater into your waistband, to give your outfit more shape.
A fitted/cropped sweater is slightly easier to pull off, as you don't have to worry about balancing out the proportions.
TURTLENECK + SKIRT
The second easy way to style a pleated midi skirt is with a form fitting turtleneck. As this clings closely to your body, it's easy to keep it tucked in your skirt. Since this outfit is very simple, you can add a belt to bring more interest to the outfit.
JACKET + SKIRT

Pairing your pleated skirt with a fitted jacket is a fun look because the edgy jacket contrast with the flowy and feminine skirt. For your under-the-jacket layer, you could either tuck in a camisole or wear a bodysuit.
So those are my outfit formulas I use when styling pleated midi skirts - which was your fav? By the way - another tip i've used in most of the outfits shown above is wearing a thermal shirt under my sweater and pulling on some fleece tights under my skirt. You can fold your tights so that they don't show below your skirt's hem. It makes SUCH a difference and makes it easy to wear cute outfits in colder weather!
